Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved art. In fact, I decided that I was going to be an artist when we had to fill out our “What I want to be when I grow up” kindergarten books. (It was a toss up between artist and astronaut.) When I would get sent to time out (shocking, I know) my mom would have to take any paper, crayons, pencils, pens, anything I could draw with because I was perfectly happy to be sent to my room where I could draw without interruption.
I went to college and got my Bachelors of Fine Art. Which made me so proud because people always kind of looked at you like you were crazy when you said you were going to school for art. (Plus, my dad was an art major and I just thought that was the coolest thing ever.) So of course, I amassed this insane amount of art supplies. Over the years the supplies had been packed away with my sketchbooks and I would get them out once in awhile but not on a consistent basis.
Earlier this month I found all of my old art supplies – I was so excited. It was better than Christmas. I decided to try to draw something every day, over the next 30 days. Really as an exercise so I could get back into it and I’m glad I did. It’s made me extremely happy.
Here are the first five:
I’ll post the next five in a couple of days!
